Arrival at Cape Town International Airport, pick up the rental car and drive to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the day at leisure. How about a ride on the Hop-on Hop-off bus to get a first impression of the "Mother City". You can go strolling at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and end the first day with a harbor cruise into the sunset.

Depending on the weather, today you will drive up to the landmark of Cape Town - Table Mountain. Enjoy the 7-minute ride on the cable car up to 1,224 m and the unique view of the harbor of Cape Town, the districts Sea Point and Green Point with the stadium on one side and towards Camps Bay on the other side. Afterwards, you can fortify yourself in one of the many cafés on the Camps Bay beach promenade before continuing on to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Here you will learn everything about the diverse flora of the Table Mountain National Park.

We will be making for you a full traditional South African Braai at the Oudekraal day picnic area, situated in Camps Bay. It is an extremely scenic spot that features spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, Table Mountain, and Lion’s Head. If you are brave enough to swim in the cold of the Atlantic, and if the season allows, there are great swimming spots and beautiful hidden cosy beaches with crystal clear water at the picnic site. While the food is being made, we will guide you through the process and tell all the secrets that locals have in their arsenal when it comes to making an amazing barbecue, or “Braai” as we call it here. The whole outing will take anything from 4 to 5 hours, and you will walk away full, entertained, blown away by the beauty of nature, and a lot more knowledgeable about how we braai here in South Africa.

Today, after a short drive, we head to the West Coast National Park. One of the largest nature reserves in South Africa is home to 250 different bird species on about 33'000 hectares. There is also a good chance to see ostriches, turtles. With a bit of luck you might also see a Cape Mountain Zebra. A side trip is worthwhile especially between August and October, when a sea of wildflowers can be admired. Drive through the park to Langebaan and stroll along the crystal clear sea or treat yourself in one of the numerous restaurants.

During a visit to Cape Town, of course, an excursion must not be missed: The trip to the Cape of Good Hope. But before heading to the most southwestern point of Africa, you should make a short stop at Boulders Beach in Simon's Town. Here you can observe a colony of spectacled penguins and be enchanted by the cute animals. Then it's just a half-hour drive to the entrance of the national park at the Cape of Good Hope. Let the wind blow around your nose once you've made the climb to the lighthouse, or just enjoy the view and the sound of the sea as you sit on the rocks. Watch out for the monkeys, though.

The regions around Cape Town are of course also known for their wines, which are famous far beyond the country's borders. You are spoilt for choice as to which region you would like to get to know better. The wine-growing regions of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl belong to the so-called Cape Winelands and stretch from the outskirts of Cape Town to the beginnings of the Garden Route. If you choose to visit this region, you may have time for a side trip to the Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop. Here you can get up close and personal with alpacas, llamas, horses and even dromedaries. Somewhat less well known, but no less high quality, is the Wellington wine region. Most of the wineries offer not only various wine tastings but also excellent regional specialties in their restaurants. We would also be happy to organize an overnight stay at one of the wineries for you.

Today your visit to Cape Town ends. Either you drive to the airport and travel back home with many new impressions or you make your way to the Garden Route to experience many more highlights of the country.
