It is important to us that the nature and the people of South Africa do not suffer any disadvantage from your visit. We also want to protect you from unpleasant surprises.

That’s why we’ve put together a guide to what you should look out for on your trip.

Dos:

– Taste local specialties like biltong (dried meat) and bobotie (a spicy dish with ground meat and egg).
– Try your hand at surfing. The Cape Town coast is ideal for it.
– Take a drift through Woodstock and explore the hip neighborhood without a direct destination.
– Enjoy the nightlife in Cape Town and visit bars and clubs in Long Street or Camps Bay – especially on the first Thursday of the month.
– Go on safari and see the “Big Five,” the world’s largest animals, in nearby national parks.
– Support local artisans and buy souvenirs at the Neighbourhoods Market or the Old Biscuit Mill.
– Take advantage of the “Car Guards” who watch over your parked car. Give them some money for their service.
– Tips: It is best to tip 10-15% of the price.
