So if you want a vacation with the best climatic conditions, you should go in the summer (in the German winter). However, the winter months (June to August) are by no means as uncomfortable as a German winter: Temperatures rarely drop below 10 degrees and can also rise to 20 degrees, especially in the area around Cape Town. Despite the cooler and unsteady climate, many travelers are enthusiastic about Cape Town in winter. Why? Whales are cavorting off the coast, nature is in full bloom, prices are cheaper and there are generally fewer tourists. So it depends on your own taste: Each season offers its own peculiarities.

Most stores and service providers accept credit cards. You can also withdraw cash from several ATMs. You should do this especially before traveling to the countryside, because many game reserve parks and wineries do not have ATMs.

A variety of different types of electrical outlets pop up in South Africa. To avoid having to rely on your luck, be sure to get a universal adapter when traveling through the country. The mains voltage is 230 volts, just like in Germany and Switzerland.

In principle, driving a car in South Africa is not a problem. However, you should be aware that left-hand traffic prevails. This can lead to confusion and uncertainty, especially in the first few days and immediately after arrival. Especially the roads along the Garden Route are well developed.

Correctly, in addition to a German driver’s license, you need an international driver’s license. This is easy to apply for and does not require any further tests. Benevolent authorities sometimes also accept the European driver’s license. To avoid any risk, however, the international driver’s license is highly recommended: It makes a possible inspection much less stressful and in case of an insurance claim you are on the safe side. Important information: If you still have an old driver’s license, the application for the international driver’s license is tied to the issuance of the new check-card driver’s license. In this case, you should contact your road traffic office at least six weeks before your trip.

Deposit
A deposit of 30% of the total price is required to confirm the booking. We require this as we need to make deposits in advance to secure the booking. The deposit is payable in Swiss Francs or Euro by bank transfer. You will receive an invoice for this.

Booking confirmation and final payment
Once the deposit is received, we will send you a booking confirmation and the updated itinerary. For the remaining amount, unless otherwise agreed, you will receive an invoice 4 weeks before the trip for immediate payment.

We want to make a booking as flexible as possible for you – hence the cancellation. Up to four weeks before the trip you can cancel at any time without expecting processing costs. From four weeks before the trip we have to ask you for a cost sharing. This can be found in our terms and conditions.
